Another Oil Spill

The past  2 weeks have been a disaster for the marine environment….first with the sinking in Antarctica of a Tourist vessel which is leaking thousand of tonnes of Diesel fuel into otherwise untouched Eco systems (god knows the effect that’s going to have)

To the latest oil spill off the coast of South Korea…another Exxon? we think so!

Although effects are being made to clean up this mess it is looking increasing like a job which going to be impossible to rectify. Oyster Beds destroyed, breeding Grounds destroyed, and this is only the beginning…… no one knows the numbers of creatures killed in this latest disaster…

What do you think should be done to stop these forms of accidents is there another way?

  1. Many years ago while working in a cargo terminal I saw a forklift driven through a broken barrell of coke syrup. 24 hours the resin had hardened and it took a pneumatic drill to break up the syrup and unglue the forklift.

    your stories certainly hold true.

  2. Does anybody know about this site ( ) ? I have seen other environmental sites with carbon calculators like yahoo and tree huggers, but I am wondering what the deal with is, is it credible? I saw they also published a list last month of the top ten greenest cities ( ). Does anyone know if this site is better than say WWF site? Fill me in

I took their carbon foot print test and it was pretty interesting, but they said that I put out 4.5 tons of carbon while another test gave me like 15 tons? I think I trust’s test a little more (because my score is lower). Does anyone know about any other tests?
